Step 1: Sitting side by side, shuffle the cards and divide in half.
Step 2: Take turns playing a card and stating the letter and the picture. If the child doesn’t know, fill in the answers. If the child is not familiar with any of the letters and words, just state them all and have the child repeat after you. He or she will catch on with practice.
Step 3: Teach as long as the child enjoys the activity; move on to something else if the child becomes restless, distracted, or frustrated. Have fun!
