“Midnight in the Mountains” by Julie Lawson and Sheena Lott is a nice winter story about a little girl and her family at a cabin in the mountains. The girl tells about what her brother, dog, and parents do over a few days. They make snow angels, go exploring, play with icicles, and go dog-sledding and skiing. She describes the sounds that she hears: the quiet hush of the falling snow, the soft brushing of the wings of owls, and the noise of huskies barking and wolves howling. She loves in there in the mountains, for the experience and the time with her family.
