Maria Montessori (1870-1952) is my initial inspiration because of my experience in a Montessori school as a child. It was so peaceful, fun, interesting, and free. I do my best to provide that sort of atmosphere for my children. Dorothy Canfield Fisher wrote an easy-to-read book on Maria Montessori, and some other books that I enjoyed. The following books have influenced my thinking and helped me implement some great ideas in our own home and school.

A Montessori Mother – by Dorothy Canfield Fisher, 1879-1958
Mothers and Children – by Dorothy Canfield Fisher, 1879-1958
