Scarlet Runner Beans — Phaseolus coccineus — 12 Seeds

Scarlet runner beans germinate easily and grow quickly to over 3 m long. They are perfect for vertical gardens with screens and trellises. The leaves are medium green in color, and slightly rough. The light orange to scarlet red flowers are abundant all summer and fall, and are beautiful in cut flower arrangements.

Seed outdoors from May until the end of July. Lightly cover seeds with soil; keep moist. Space 10-30 cm apart for best growth. Moderate water. Full sun to partial shade.

Annual. Attracts butterflies, bees, and hummingbirds.

Seed life: 3 years.
