Red Flanders poppies grow 40 cm tall, with rough, dark green stems and leaves, and single bright red flowers. The flowers are abundant from May until October. They can be dried for use in potpourri.
Start seeds indoors in March and April; transplant or seed outdoors in April, May, and June. Lightly cover seed with soil; keep moist. Space 15-30 cm apart. Moderate water, but also drought tolerant. Full sun to partial shade.
Annual. Attracts butterflies and bees.
Seed life: 3 years.
